Dr. Vicari has received many awards during his three decades of teaching and coaching, including the Sam’s Club Teacher of the Year Award 2002-2003, the 2006 Disney High School English Teacher of the Year Award, the New York State English Council Distinguished Educator Award, and the 2009 Chris Nobel Award for Outstanding Educator. Dr. Vicari was a national finalist for the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2006 and a recipient of the University of Notre Dame Academic Excellence Award in 1995. Dr. Vicari taught English language and literature at New York University, and in Italy and China. He is committed to the student-centered approach to learning. Dr. Vicari is a classically trained pianist and bassist who has performed at many venues around New York City, including Carnegie Hall.
